Hybrid News Theme’s Featured Posts Slider Working Again
I’m tossing in my solution in case it helps someone who is still frantically searching for an answer to why the featured posts slider in the Hybrid News theme has stopped working.

Disqus plugin for WordPress insists on remaining on Pages, even after comments have been turned off for pages. This hack removes Disqus from pages in the Hybrid News Theme, whether comments are ON or OFF.
