Yes I’m one of those: A LOST fan. Every since my son-in-law introduced me to LOST 3 or 4 seasons ago, I’ve been hooked.
And just like many other LOST fans, I get annoyed with the writers for stringing us along and aggravated with the network (ABC) for withholding episodes almost half a year at a time.
I was highly disappointed that there was a rerun in the middle of this final season, and all the technical and marketing explanations (from various industry insiders) didn’t make it any better. But the LOSTies Moment Ford & Straume Credits video below, which was created the night ABC ran that rerun, eased the pain a little.
I’m already saddened that there are only a few episodes left in the entire LOST saga. The biggest question over in several popular forums is “How will they answer all the unanswered questions with so few episodes left?” That’s what I’m wondering, too. If they don’t answer all the important questions, I’ll be supremely p*d off!
Not since Star Trek Voyager have I enjoyed a series so much! (Law and Order, the original series, was a close second.) In fact, I was so enamored of STV, I felt I was addicted. I couldn’t miss an episode, I couldn’t be bothered when it was on, I might get mad if you tried to talk to me! I didn’t want to be called a “trekkie,” and I didn’t want to be addicted to anything, so I just quit watching it, cold turkey. Now, years later, LOST captured my heart. I can say I don’t feel addicted — but maybe that’s because I can miss an episode knowing I can always watch it later on the internet. (We do fool ourselves, don’t we?)
It was easy to fall in love with all the regular LOSTies, as well as those who only appeared for a time. Of the regulars, I think Sun and Rose were my favorites. Sun because of her unerring determination in every situation she found herself in; Rose because she always found a way to be calm and be present. The guys? Adaptable, cheerful Hurley, accepting his “all-knowing” gifts and Desmond, using his “all-knowing” gifts to make a way and save the day.
I guess writing this post is my way of saying good-bye to LOST before it is totally gone. I’m sure the reruns will be syndicated for the next 20 years, just like Star Trek Voyager and Law & Order. Since I’ve never seen the first or second season episodes, watching the initial reruns will be just like having new episodes of LOST.
Bring on the reruns!
LOSTies Moment Ford & Straume Credits :: Video
Here’s a fun moment … I saw this video over at Shakesville, Because LOST is a Rerun Tonight…
My comment on the Video?
Rose would make a great surly Lieutenant, and Kate might be a great informant but probably a better misunderstood fugitive. I was highly disappointed that there was a rerun in the middle of this final season, and all the technical and marketing explanations don’t make it any better. But the video does.
Thanks to YouTube user jedfindlay for the creativity of smashing it together and sharing it. (And Rockford Files was certainly one of my all-time TV detective shows.)
Adieu, LOST!
